Kaylyn had gone to hell and back in the match at Defiance and it was no surprise that she was not cleared to compete this week. She was not able to leave the ring without help from the EMT's who did not even get to do their job right away as Chris Vaude had come running down and helped her out of the ring himself. He did as Kaylyn wished, and stayed in the back throughout the match. It was what she had wanted. The hours in the hospital went by rather quickly for Kaylyn, as she was unconscious most of it. It was sheer luck that she was allowed to leave the hospital when she did, and that is why the camera found her in the comfort of the home she shared with Chris Vaude in Brooklyn New York

"When I agreed to do the match, I never fathomed that I would be in the ring with Snake ... and Devon for that matter, alone. To be honest though Chris... I would do it all over again knowing the outcome."

Sitting on the couch, as she did not wish to stay in bed as the doctor ordered, she was curled up with her feet on the couch. Her head was pounding still, and the bruising on her face were quite apparent. She had no shame in letting everyone see the hell she went through. How much bruising was really there no one knew due to the sweat pants, and one of Chris's sleeved shirts being worn by her to cover her body up completely. She glanced over at Chris waiting to see if he would say anything. After all, he was furious at the outcome of the match... but more so the damage that was done to his wife. At the same time, he knew what the business brought about.

Silence was all she got from him and that bothered her. Rising off the couch it was apparent that her ribs were damaged from the wincing she did and how her hand went to her side rather quickly. Her movement was slow, but she made her way over towards Chris who had been pacing back and forth in the living room. She lifted her arms to stop him from moving before resting her head on his chest.

"You can't blame anyone baby. I knew what I was getting into. I know how dangerous each of them are as a single, so it was obvious it would be worse with them as a whole. I am not going to back down. I will continue to fight Toxic Melody if Sarah asks me to."

The silent treatment would continue as he stood there, staring out the window with his wife's head rested against his chest. His muscular arms would be wrapped around her, holding her close to him. Even though he was not in the best of moods, Chris would not take it out on Kaylyn. "So i'm just supposed to turn a blind eye towards the fact that a male put his hands on my wife?" His hands would ball up into fists."Not even one male.. But two at the same time?!"

His hands around her was comforting, exactly what she needed right now. Even though she could tell how tense he was, he was still being calm with her. At least as much as he could be. Her head lifted, and she looked at him. "You know what the business brings about. You also know I am not afraid to step into a ring with a male opponent. All in all... they were opponents. This was not just a match, it was a war." She leaned in and kissed his cheek, thinking that if she tried elsewhere he might turn away right now.

It was obvious that he didn't see it that way with the look on his face. Before he could say anything, the lips of Kaylyn would make contact with his cheek. Baby blue hues stared into her brown ones. " I understand the way the business works. But what they did, was just too damn much. They were seriously trying to injure you. And that shit doesn't sit well with me. I did what you wanted, I stayed in the back. But there were many times within that match where I was going to break my promise to you and come out there and take out the whole damn gang of pu[explicit]ies! " The fire within those eyes was visible.

As he stared into her hues she could see the fire within his own. Not only that but she could hear it when he spoke. "Chris, the same way you want to protect me, I want to do the same for you, that is why I asked you to stay in the back." Her hand went and slid along the tense muscles along his chest. "They are more then what meets the eye. I know you have dealt with plenty of touch competitors, and you never back down as well, but this is one group I would not want to get too personal with. They have abused those within my life before, and the last thing I need is for them to come after you as well." It was easily seen that this topic was getting to her.

He smirked as she finished speaking, almost chuckling. " Listen. What has happened to me in my career, has made me the man I am today. I've been beaten almost within an inch of my life on a few different occasions. I've been jumped. It still doesn't matter to me. A few nights in a hospital is not as bad as most people think. " The smirk remained as it seemed he had calmed down a little. " If they want to come after me, so be it. But if they have any credibility at all, they will do it on a one on one scenario. In the back of my mind, i'm leaning towards them wanting to make an example out of me, so all of them will attack me at once. If that's the case, you know me baby. I'm like Garth Brooks. I got friends in low places.

Kaylyn could not help but to laugh at that as well. "Baby, all I am saying is you know the business as well as I do. Things happen that are out of our control. This was something that was out of your control. Don't blame yourself. Like I said, I would do it all over again if asked. And if Sarah still wants me to help her against Toxic Melody... I am all for it." She stepped back out of his embrace and walked over towards the mantle. Sitting on top of it was none other then the doll that Aurora Matthews family had sent Kaylyn's way months ago. Kaylyn stared at it for a long minute before a smirk grew across her face. Nothing was said from her, but it was apparent she was ready to say something... but to whom?

Her hand reached out taking that doll within her grasp and Chris came up behind her whispering something in her ear. That, whatever he said, knocked that look out of her eyes and she shook her head. Turning to look at him she smiled before looking back at the doll in her hand. She stared for a long moment before tossing it into the fireplace under the mantle. Grabbing the fire-starter from atop the mantle she opened it and drenched the doll in it then closed it and placed it atop the shelving once more before lifting the matches and striking one to a light. Staring at the flame for a moment she smiled before tossing it onto the doll which was set ablaze instantly. Chris' hands wrapped around her waist as he rested his chin on her shoulder watching the black flames starting to come within the blaze.

“Time to say good-bye to the past, and keep moving forward.”

Her own hands came to his own around her waist as she relaxed back into his frame without a care in the world. The camera held for a moment before the scene faded away.
