[Two hours before the camera turned on…..]
“Kaylyn, I was expecting your call a little earlier, we're about to go riding. Where did you want to meet for later?”
“I had a little business earlier...how about we just meet up at the Arena and talk about a few things, and you can show me what you were talking about when we train again.”
“Sounds perfect to me, I know I'll want a bit of a workout after this so I don't get stiff. If we run late, I'll spring for dinner and drinks later.”
“See you in a couple of hours Matthews.”
“You got it Vaude.”
[Now….]
Cold weather was never something to make her happy, but for some reason or another, the Women’s Champion was with a smile on her face as she was walking the streets of Montana. A building to her right caught her eye and she walked in and stood in a line. A little diner by the name of The Rex was where our champion was found when the camera caught up with her. As the line simmered quickly from those paying from their meals Kaylyn found herself at the counter in no time.
Kaylyn: “Can I get a peach propel, two bottles of water, and an iced tea to go. Mm, you know what.. Can you throw a fruit salad in there as well?” A smile and nod came from the man behind the counter and she stood there waiting for her order to be collected. The camera had set up and all they got from her was a finger held up stating that she wanted a minute before she spoke. The camera man went to turn the feed off but she shook her head. “You can roll the tape, just wait a minute before I get onto my opponents.” She looked the tech over and laughed. “I hope you are ready for a little walk in the cold.” He was wearing shorts in the weather they were having. She could not believe it but obviously he was one of those who did that all year around. She never did understand how people could do that. But hell, it was one way to build up a tolerance for something. The man at the counter came back and had everything bagged and ready to go.
Worker: “That will be 8.64”
Going towards her jeans she reached in to pull out a ten but before she could she had been interrupted.
18 year old boy: "Let me pay for that Ms. Vaude." A smirk on his face as he looked the champion over. Kaylyn smiled sweetly and let him pay for her purchase before she nodded and took the items and turned heading back out the door. To her regret the teenager followed her outside. "Slow downsweetheart , I will walk with you." Kaylyn stopped and rolled her eyes before turning around to face the kid.
Kaylyn: "Look kid, you want to look... fine, buy a ticket for the show tomorrow night." Kaylyn turned and started to walk away then stopped and turned her head to face him once more. "Oh wait... were all sold out. Sucks to be you." A big grin from her as she turned and headed away from him and he could hear her yelling back to him another thank you for the purchase.
A little further down the block, once she noticed the kid was no longer interested in following her she slowed down to make it easier on the tech who was lugging the camera around. He seemed grateful for the small gesture.
Kaylyn: “Sorry about that. I didn’t want to say anything bad in front of all those customers.” Kaylyn shrugged before going to speak about her upcoming match. “So, this week I am finding myself across the ring from Aurelei and another that truly does not deserve to be in a match with the three of us. Ms. My Shit don’t stink herself, Vespertine. Tell me something Ves… can you feel the pressure? Is it getting to you yet that you have to be better then you ever were in your career just to hold your place in this match? You beat Foxy Foxy… a blonde Barbie and her little manager… big f-censor-king deal. Like anyone in the women’s division could not do the same. Granted I have never been in a match with the Barbie, but her manager I kicked all over the damn arena. So first off… learn your place in this match will you? To tell you the truth, you might be better off letting Aurelei start the match, because she will kick your ass all over the place if you start because frankly… it will be a one hit win if you are the first one in the ring.” A bit of smoke came from the champs lips as she laughed. The cold temperature only seeming to grow as the numbers continued to drop. “I guess I should take a step back and start this off right though shouldn’t I? After all… you have spoken so far Ves and still nothing has come from anyone else in this match, though I am sure it will come soon enough. For starters, I hope that medium sided meal you ate has fully digested because I would hate to see anything come up after you get hit so hard you feel the nausea come over you. But to answer your question.. Why would ACW come to a small area such as this. Honey, you really are not with the program. American Championship Wrestling has fans all over the world. Granted some area’s are smaller then others… but why would we not go everywhere? BIG, small, it matters not where we are, but what we do… and you will come to learn that soon enough I am hoping. Then again, you are still calling yourself a diva so… who knows. Maybe that little head of yours is full of nothing but hot air. You see, unlike you… we women in ACW do not strive to be around the men of the business… did you think joining with a team such as THE CORPORATION … that it would boost you up in the business? Hate to break it to you sweetheart… but no dice. The men in this business are just that… men in this business. The woman in this business are much more. We are the best there is out there… and then you came along calling us all diva’s.” Her hand lifted and rubbed her temple. Just thinking about being a called a diva was giving her a headache she did not want. “Last I checked, I was no prima donna. Anyone who has come here as such… was quickly targeted and knocked off the roster…. Probably running away crying because of being picked on. Even when I came here… I was targeted as the “New Girl.” But… I did not run away crying.. I took the losses I had week in and week out and made something of myself. I came back and beat everyone that had beaten me in the past… and I was Main Event Material. So all that talk about us Women not being the Main Event for the shows… Let me let you in on a secret…. No matter where we are placed in the line up…. Nine times out of ten we steal the whole f-censor-king show. How is that for a Main Event toots?”
The long tanned suede coat that she had over her was pulled around tighter as she walked on through the streets of Billing Montana. Hooking the buttons in just the right spots left her to move her hands away once more and still stay warm. Her jeans seemed to be keeping her legs quite warm but how she was walking in those black heeled boots that rested over the jeans to her knees…. Well that was something only a woman could do now wasn’t it? But wait… she was headed off to meet Aurora wasn’t she… so why was she not dressed in gear? Maybe that was what was in the bag that was draped over her right shoulder and seemed to be quite full from the outside. A quick glance at the street signs and she was off speaking once more as if she had never stopped.
Kaylyn: "You want your name in the spotlight but here is the problem with that sugar pop. We.... Aurora, myself, and even Aurelei... We are the women of ACW... we are not Diva's... so please... do us a favor... and refer to only yourself as a Diva.”Another smirk was sent off before she went on. “You want to be main event material then this is what you have to do... Step back and realize that the women’s federation here is not made of arm candy women. We are not here to give the boys a show, well, not in that sense. We are here to kick a-censor-s... and it don’t matter whose a-censor-s is put in front of us. You learn your place here... then after you learn that there are no Diva's in ACW...you will come to be main event worthy. You talk about a win record being higher then a loss... Honey... did you check the records of everyone in this match? I am sure that my loss record is higher then my win record if only by a little... but you will also see that I am no Diva... I am not some b-censor-h that will just sit back and have a cat fight. I am the World Women's Champion... and little Ms.... Franken Barbie.... I think you need to realize that this here match... will be the fight of your life once you step into that ring."
The bag was readjusted on her shoulder as she switched hands of the bag from the diner where she grabbed a little to go snack. One foot in front of the other she continued her walk down the quiet streets avoiding the glances and murmurs of passersby who noticed just who she was. It was always a satisfied feeling when you could walk around, even more so in a small town and mostly everyone… at least those that were wrestling fans, knew who you were.
Kaylyn: “Now, while I have plenty more to say to you.. I have to show Aurelei the respect that she does not deserve and speak to her as well.”
Tech: “Ms. Vaude, both Aurelei and Aurora have aired now as well…”
Kaylyn: “Oh, let’s have a little look then shall we?”
She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out her phone. Hooking headphones to it she put them in her ears and watched her opponent, and her partner and listened to everything they each had to say. Turning the phone off she pulled the plugs from her ears and wrapped it around the phone before tucking it back into her pocket.
Kaylyn: “I have to admit, that while seeing the list… and it checked twice at that… it was… well, it was done for no reason what so ever. You see Aurelei… list, no list, makes no difference, because it matters not what your list says… either way, you have one hell of an a-censor-s kicking coming your way. I honestly hate to say this, but… I feel bad for you… getting teamed up with a nobody… then again, it’s quite fitting isn’t it? After all…. You are nothing anymore as well… so it’s a match made in hell isn’t it?”A soft chuckle came forth. “Either way… I have to say I am kind of sick of both of you… neither one of you are taking me and my accomplishments seriously. You both think of me as …Well in my eyes, no competition at all. Ves, she knows not what she is talking about… but you… to think that if Aurora did not come down to the ring I would not have came back and finished you off… dear me you are thinking way too highly of yourself. I don’t know… maybe.. Just maybe you are starting to get into that Diva mind frame Aurelei.” Another smirk was sent off. “I hope that touched a nerve with you Lady Death, because quite frankly… I can not wait until we are in the ring. Hell, I would love to show you just how much pain I can send your way. You really need to step off that pedestal you put yourself on and get a reality check, because whether you like it or not… I am the Women’s Champion. And I could care less how I retained the title… fact of the matter is.. I retained it. And there is nothing you, or anyone else here can say that will change that factor. I am not going to cower because of how I got my win. Or have you forgotten I am all about dirty tactics?”
Coming to the arena she walked through the door and headed straight for the ring… which was empty. A glance around showed that Aurora was no where in site, and right now.. That was just fine for her, because there was still business left to be handled.
Kaylyn: “Now, I find it quite funny how you go on and assume what I am going to say before it comes from my mouth, but… hell its to be expected so… While you went off on your little tangent on what was changed on your end… Were you letting me know… or were you trying to convince yourself that you are better then me… because quite frankly, you seem to be spouting off much about your accomplishments as of late and it seems that you are trying to remind yourself of what you are capable of. Hell, how is it that you can take on Three opponents at once… but when it comes to me and my title, Aurora gets in one hit and you are finished? Another laughable matter in my eyes. But hey, keep on spouting off at the mouth. Its quite… well, Aurora said it best… Boring. And Aurora, for the record… Aurelei is just as boring as Ves. Just give it some time and they will be like two peas in a pod.” Kaylyn sent a little wink towards the camera. “And for the record Aurelei… it does not matter who comes after the title I hold.. I will fight just the same towards them all. Give it my best every time… and watch as one by one they crumble. It seems you are just having such a hard time with it, because you know that shortly… very shortly… I will break your record for longest Women’s title reign in this company. How does it feel Aurelei, to know that everything you worked so hard for… is getting washed away by… Well, ME! ”
The camera turned as a noise was heard and Kaylyn smiled in the direction it came from. Aurora would walk in a little late, still fixing her hair into a thick braid as she moved, and the curls as they were deftly woven in were obviously damp on the ends, her pale skin holding a little flush of heat still despite how cold it was outside. Those amazing green eyes of hers held a hint of good humor though, and contentment as they lifted to find Kaylyn.
Aurora: "Sorry about the delay, but like I said...Dinner and drinks on me?" That small little grin would reveal more of what she'd been up to between horseback riding and then, than any words she spoke. Aurora was wearing black sweatpants that had her name in script across the backside, and when she took off her leather jacket she had on a razor back tank that said ACW on the front in white, the main color was black, with her favorite training ring shoes on her feet. "Delay or not, I'm ready when you are."
Kaylyn: “One more minute and I will be good to go.” She turned back towards the camera and continued. “Now, I have some last minute training to do, but you both remember one thing… Aurora Matthews…. Kaylyn Vaude… Those names should mean plenty to you both, because that’s what you will be hearing as that match ends. We will come out on top, because frankly… neither of you can measure up, trust.... believe.”
She walked towards Aurora and dug into the bag she had from the diner. "Propel for you, and I grabbed water for your hubby, I figured he would be around.” She stopped and turned towards the camera man. "Here, hitch a cab back since I had you walk all this way." She handed him a fifty dollars and turned back to Aurora who was opening her mouth to speak. The camera however faded before Aurora would reply.
“Kaylyn, I was expecting your call a little earlier, we're about to go riding. Where did you want to meet for later?”
“I had a little business earlier...how about we just meet up at the Arena and talk about a few things, and you can show me what you were talking about when we train again.”
