Falling Apart? 12-14-11
The camera had been running for hours, yet Kaylyn couldn’t think of a word to say. The events of the previous weeks were one thing… but she must have been outright mad to demand a match against Corey Black at Frostbyte. What was the point? To prove to him that he could not get the best of her? Yeah, like that was it. After all, he got the best the last two weeks as he …. rather, Creeping Death… left her laying unconscious.
“How the hell can I even think about stepping into the ring with Neil this week, when I know what is coming just a little over a week from now?”
You know how people are always told to stop and think before they act? That was something that did not come easy to Kaylyn, and she was regretting it right now. Hell… she was regretting it the second she opened the door three weeks ago and wound up hitting Corey Black. Seeing who it was she hit… she just froze, before storming off. She couldn’t apologize. Hell, the last time she had seen him…
“How did I let things get to this point? I was always so careful with everything I would do. Always made sure that things couldn’t come back to haunt me… but now… death is coming to get me. Creeping Death is back… I know that’s who I will find in the ring. I just know it.”
She still remembered the first time she was ever set to go against him in the ring. It happened to be a tag team match, and no one knew of his training her back then. No one knew that there was no way they would wind up fighting one another. Hell, it never got to that point though. When all hell broke loose in the ring, it was Core…ugh… Creeping Death who walked around the ring, took her hand and helped her off the apron, and escorted her out of harms way and to the back. Now… it was the exact opposite. Then… Creeping Death was someone who wouldn’t lay a hand on her… now.. he is coming back to do what he feels should have been done long ago.
“Hell, I guess it’s fitting that I am going against a woman beater this week. After all, it will set me up for what I am going to come into the ring with at Frostbyte. Then again… some just call it a little tough love.”
She laughed softly, before her smile faded just as quickly as it came. Even in her black sweat pants and white long sleeve shirt, she still felt cold. Was it the cold that had her curled up in a ball on the couch of the locker room… or was it fear? This time around… it might just be the latter. In her hands she was spinning her phone around, while keeping it clasped rather tightly. Many times she gave a glance towards it, and kept turning away, but this time she lifted it up and dialed a number before waiting in silence for an answer. No sooner did she get one did she speak.
“It’s me. We need to talk.” Pause. “I am at the arena already.” Pause. “I don’t care if the show is not until tomorrow! We need to talk NOW.”
Without waiting for a reply she hung up and wrapped the phone in her hands once more before twirling it within them.
“How the hell can I be ready tonight if I can’t get my head straight right now? Years of doing what needed to be done, avoiding sucking the corporate cock… just to have it all back fire in the end. Months of keeping my personal life out of this place… and it’s all going to be laid on the line in a weeks time. God help me. Hell. Damn, this whole thing I never even talked to Tyler about.. and now the whole world is going to know.”
She sighed and tossed her head back, groaning as it hit the wall behind her causing pain to run through her. She closed her eyes relaxing for a moment and jumped almost falling off the couch as her phone went off. Not even looking to see who it was she answered quickly.
“What do you want?” Pause. “Oh, sorry Tyler. I didn’t mean… I’m just out of it now. What’s up babe?” Pause. “I know. I should have left you something letting you know I wasn’t going to be around tonight.. I just… had to get out for a while.” Pause. “Yeah, everything is fine. I am over at the arena. I think I am just going to stay here for the night, I have my bag with me, so I should be fine.” Pause. “No, don’t do that. I will just see you before the show. Love you.”
There was a moment after the line went dead before she even bothered to close her phone and finally let it drop to the couch, out of her hand.
“I have to focus. If I can’t get my head in it this week… I have no chance next week. So tonight I am to find myself in the ring with the same man who went against Hero last week. Check. Got it. Someone who needs to get over their fears of hitting a woman and the consequences that followed upon an incident of the sort. Guess what buddy. Times up for getting over fears. This is a business. You knew what you were getting into upon signing the contract. The possibility of fighting against a woman was always an option, and you knew that. Sure.. there was a slim chance it would happen, but lucky for you… your chances seem to suck. Unlucky for me… you remind me of Corey with the way you don’t want to hit a woman. He was always the type to. Hell… if I hadn’t of seen him in front of me… watched the footage of him attacking me myself… I wouldn’t have believed it to be him either.”
It was completely true too. Never had Corey… or Creeping Death ever laid a hand on a woman. Why now… why her? How is it that so many people have been begging Corey to let out Creeping Death… yet without wanting him to do so, all she had to do was run into him… well… with a door… and it happens. She bit down on her lower lip realizing she was thinking about it again and shook her head to get the image, and thoughts away.
“That however is the only thing you two have in common, well, outside of me wanting to pin you both to the canvas. You might think you have it easy this week Neil. After all… you have seen what I have been through lately. Pipe to the head. Laid out.. and I still can’t even remember what the hell happened after those lights went out. And then I had to step into the ring with DTR. Got pinned after being hit with Your Foretold Destiny. The finishing move of my significant other. How fucked up is that? What can I say? He wanted to send a message to Tyler, and he did.. he told him just how much he can fuck up another persons finisher. Ah well. The point here is… You might think you have it easy, but never count me out. Counting me out is the worst thing one can do. I might not look like I am ready to get into the ring. Might not look like my head is in it… but I can guaran-damn-tee that I am ready for it.
Not only am I ready to get into the ring.. I am ready for anything that might come my way. Whether it be in the ring or not. That means you Creep. Corey Black. Creeping Death. Whatever the fuck you want to be called. I am not done with you yet… oh no. This… is just the beginning.”
Kaylyn looked past the camera as she heard the door open and her face stayed emotionless.
“To be honest, I was not sure if you were going to show up or not. Listen.. there has to be another way. I can’t do this. I’m not ready… not yet.”
Before a reply was heard the camera was turned off leaving the viewers clueless.
