Ringside: “The Return”

All of a sudden the lights in the arena darken, the following words being written on the Wartron.

“Every once in a while comes along a Superstar responsible and mature.”

Mitch Law: “What’s this?”

Ryan Johnson: “I wish somebody would turn back on the lights.”

“A role model to children all around the world.”

Mitch Law: “Oh God, please don’t tell me, it’s..”

Ryan Johnson: “Who? Who?”

Mitch Law: “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

“This is NOT that guy.”

Dancing with danger right until dawn
The sin that you buy and you sell
Mom and daddy said “the life that you’ve led,
You’ll party you’re way straight to hell

The first verse of “On Your Knee’s” by W.A.S.P hits and pink pyro‘s suddenly sparkle from the entrance ramp, a spotlight revealing a dollar sign S on the floor. The fans immediately know who it is and roar with cheers as the spotlight zips from the entrance ramp to the ring, an explosion occurring with pink pyro from all four turnbuckles to bring the lights on inside the ring.

On Your knees, you shall be on your knees
Cos I want you on your knees
You shall be on your knees
And I need you on your knees
You shall be on your knees
Cos I want you on your knees
You shall be on your knees

Standing there with his pink glasses and trademark smile, the song comes to a close. The biggest surprise though isn’t his flashy attire, it’s who tends to be standing by his side.

Mitch Law: “Kaylyn James Evans? What the hell is she doing out here with Chase Sovereign?”

Ryan Johnson: “Who cares? Chase Sovereign is back baby! I was afraid the prison sentence would ruin his career.”

Mitch Law: “Give it a rest Ryan, he probably enjoyed it.”

By now Chase has himself a microphone, Kaylyn standing directly by his side as he prepares to address the live crowd for the first time in months.

Chase Sovereign: “Guess who’s back?”

The fans roar.

Chase Sovereign: “It’s me, dummies!”

Again, the fans are loving this.

Chase Sovereign: “That’s right, I’m back and I’m better than ever, couldn’t you tell by the new get up? Oh and of course, let’s not forget my personal masseuse and.. and… manager, Kaylyn James Evans.”

The fans give a mixed reaction, they still need some time to come around after the whole Tyler Brooks relationship. Credit where it’s due though, she certainly has some fans in the audience who are just as glad to see her back.

Chase Sovereign: “Let me tell you straight away that if giving a hand-job was a managerial requirement, she’d get the two hand approval from Chase Sovereign.”

Kaylyn frowns at him as if to say “whatever”.

Chase Sovereign: “Now I know you guys and girls, especially the girls are ready for my return but thanks to Kaylyn here, I’ve come back with a target on someone’s back. You see, I found out the back isn’t just a good place to drop a load when you’re finished from behind, it’s actually a good place to put a bullseye and Kaylyn has done exactly that – well, both really but we’ll discuss the latter at another time.”

She rolls her eyes and folds her arms, I suppose this is all par for the course with Chase Sovereign.

Chase Sovereign: “Corey Black, that cum stained target is aimed at you my friend. Kaylyn hasn’t forgotten you beating her at Frostbyte and to her, it doesn’t matter if you were Creeping Death or not because she owes you for that. Well guess what buddy, I’m the one repaying the debts around here and at Driven, it’s going to be me and you one on one.”

Red lights begin swirling around the arena as the lights slowly fade and “Blood and a Siren” by Index Case kicks in. The crowd begins head banging along, and when the lyrics come in, Corey Black emerges from the backstage area.

Mitch Law: “Business is about to pick up. I’m not sure if making Corey Black your number one target is a good idea, not right now anyway.”

He walks down to the ring wearing a black hoodie with the hood up. Corey slides in under the bottom rope, and pops up to his feet, pulling a microphone from inside the hoodie and stepping towards both Kaylyn and Sovereign.

Corey Black: “Is that true?”

Chase Sovereign: “Of course it’s–”

Black interrupts.

Corey Black: “I’m not talking to you, interrupt me again and I’ll break your face.”

The fans roar at that, they loved that comment. Corey Black has been so focused and driven as of late that no-one has been able to get a word with him.

Corey Black: “We both know this isn’t about Creeping Death Kaylyn, this is about us and what we used to be. You know now that I didn’t do any of the things you thought I did, so why are you holding a grudge? Tell me that at least.”

Kaylyn doesn’t say anything, she just looks away. Chase on the other hand steps in with his microphone.

Chase Sovereign: “Break my face? That’s a little hostile. It’s not like I’ve made a return and stated my intent to kick your ass, oh wait, it is.”

Chase suddenly strikes with the microphone and crashes it over the head of Corey Black. You may expect the fans to boo but they don’t, instead they cheer regardless. Black lays out of it on the floor, Sovereign going to lay more digs in but Kaylyn stops him.

She points to the exit and asks him to go, both of them backing up the entrance ramp as On Your Knee’s plays for a second time.

Ryan Johnson: “Wow, what a return for Chase Sovereign!”
